RBC personal chequing statements use day/month/year dates and separate Debit and Credit columns, plus Description and Balance. A multi-page statement repeats the headings on the next page. Interac e-Transfer rows often put the recipient on the following line.
A text-based RBC PDF is read in your browser. The file is not uploaded. If the columns on your copy differ from the notes below, change the mapping in the preview before you download.
Canadian dates are the detail people get wrong, because 15/01/2026 is 15 January and not 1 May. If a file is all single-digit days, automatic detection may not have proof. Set DMY before you trust the sheet.
Typical columns: Date, Description, Debit, Credit, Balance. Date order: day/month/year. Currency on the statement: CAD.
In RBC online banking, open the chequing account statements and save the PDF.
Choose DMY unless a row with a day above 12 has already forced that detection.
Leave those roles. Check that an e-Transfer you sent is a debit and payroll is a credit.
The free allowance counts pages. If you only process the first pages, later transactions will be missing. The preview lists the page number on each row.
