Commonwealth Bank Smart Access statements use day/month/year dates. The narrative column is often headed Transaction rather than Description, and the amount columns are Debit and Credit, with Balance. A date like 15/03/2026 proves day-first order; 03/04/2026 must then be read as 3 April, not March 4.
A text-based CommBank PDF is read in your browser. The file is not uploaded. If the columns on your copy differ from the notes below, change the mapping in the preview before you download.
NetBank transfer descriptions frequently wrap, with a reference such as NETBANK on the next line. That line belongs to the transfer. The statement header's AUD wording is the currency; a bare dollar sign does not by itself prove Australian dollars to the OFX file.
Typical columns: Date, Transaction, Debit, Credit, Balance. Date order: day/month/year. Currency on the statement: AUD.
Open the Smart Access account, go to statements, and save the PDF. A screen capture will not convert on the private path.
Australian statements are day first. Confirm 03/04 lands in April if the file also contains a date after the 12th.
Debit and Credit stay as they are. Balance stays Balance.
If you download OFX, confirm the currency is AUD before importing. The spreadsheet itself does not convert currencies.
