Citi consumer checking statements tend to use an explicit Debit column and Credit column rather than a single signed amount. Dates are month/day/year. The description often includes the payment channel, such as ACH, ATM, or a check number, on the same line or the line below.
A text-based Citi PDF is read in your browser. The file is not uploaded. If the columns on your copy differ from the notes below, change the mapping in the preview before you download.
Citi credit-card statements are not the same file. Card PDFs group purchases, payments, and credits, and a payment is money you sent to the card, which is the opposite direction from a checking deposit. Convert checking and card files separately and do not mix the sign convention.
Typical columns: Date, Description, Debit, Credit, Balance. Date order: month/day/year. Currency on the statement: USD.
In Citi online banking, open the deposit account and download the monthly statement PDF. Card statements live on the card account and use a different table.
If both columns are detected, do not collapse them until export. QuickBooks CSV will sign them for you.
If the PDF prints both a transaction date and a posting date, keep the left-hand date and set the other column to Ignore, or swap them if you post by settlement date.
A workbook should not mix a checking ledger and a card bill. Run the converter once per PDF.
