Wells Fargo checking PDFs often label the money columns Deposits/Credits and Withdrawals/Debits, and the last column Ending daily balance. The balance is commonly printed only on the last transaction of a calendar day, so earlier rows that day have an empty balance cell. Dates are month/day/year.
A text-based Wells Fargo PDF is read in your browser. The file is not uploaded. If the columns on your copy differ from the notes below, change the mapping in the preview before you download.
Slash headings still mean one column each: deposits are money in, withdrawals are money out. Do not split Deposits/Credits into two fields. If the balance column is blank on a row, that is how the statement was printed, not a failed parse.
Typical columns: Date, Description, Deposits/Credits, Withdrawals/Debits, Ending daily balance. Date order: month/day/year. Currency on the statement: USD.
This page is for the PDF statement. Wells Fargo also offers a CSV download in online banking; if you already have that CSV you do not need this converter.
Set Deposits/Credits to Credit and Withdrawals/Debits to Debit. Set Ending daily balance to Balance.
Only fill a balance when you actually want one on every row. Copying the daily balance onto earlier rows invents data the PDF did not print.
Use XLSX if you want the empty balance cells preserved. OFX omits balance and uses a signed amount.
