Discover cashback checking statements are a single dated table with Amount and Balance. Money out is negative. Dates are month/day/year. Cashback credits, when paid to the account, appear as their own positive rows rather than as a reduction of each purchase.
A text-based Discover PDF is read in your browser. The file is not uploaded. If the columns on your copy differ from the notes below, change the mapping in the preview before you download.
A Discover card statement is a different document: purchases, payments, and credits, usually with no running checking balance. Convert the checking PDF and the card PDF separately so a card payment is not mixed with a checking withdrawal.
Typical columns: Date, Description, Amount, Balance. Date order: month/day/year. Currency on the statement: USD.
Download the checking statement from the bank side of Discover, or the card statement from the card side. They should not go in one sheet unless you mean to combine them by hand.
Amount with a minus is a debit. Balance is the running balance.
Map Date, Description, and Amount. Leave Balance empty. Payments on a card are often positive credits.
Name the file after the account so next month's import does not overwrite the other product.
