Starling statements are a straightforward current-account table: Date, Description, Money out, Money in, and Balance. Dates are day/month/year. References for Faster Payments often wrap under the payee. Spaces between goals show up as transfers when money actually moved.
A text-based Starling PDF is read in your browser. The file is not uploaded. If the columns on your copy differ from the notes below, change the mapping in the preview before you download.
Starling's app can also export CSV or OFX directly. Prefer that native export when it is available. Use this converter when the file you were given is the PDF statement.
Typical columns: Date, Description, Money out, Money in, Balance. Date order: day/month/year. Currency on the statement: GBP.
In the Starling app, open Statements and save the PDF for the month.
Money out is Debit. Money in is Credit. Description stays Description.
Dates are day/month/year.
A native CSV or OFX from Starling is already structured. Convert the PDF only when that is the file you have.
