Banks · United States
U.S. Bank checking statements commonly use Withdrawals and Deposits as separate columns, with Date, Description, and Balance. Dates are month/day/year. Descriptions for electronic payments often include the originator name plus a short reference that wraps to a second line.
A text-based U.S. Bank PDF is read in your browser. The file is not uploaded. If the columns on your copy differ from the notes below, change the mapping in the preview before you download.
The account summary at the top lists beginning balance, deposits, withdrawals, and ending balance as totals. Those totals are not individual transactions. The table under the column headings is the part to export.
Typical columns: Date, Description, Withdrawals, Deposits, Balance. Date order: month/day/year. Currency on the statement: USD.
In U.S. Bank online banking, open the deposit account, then Statements, and save the PDF for the month you want.
Withdrawals should be Debit and Deposits should be Credit. Balance stays Balance.
If a confirmation number fell into its own row, merge it into the description cell and delete the empty extra row.
The last transaction's balance should match the ending balance printed in the summary. If it does not, a row was missed or a sign was flipped.
